Founded 93 years ago on November 12, 1922 on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated has met the challenges of the world and continues to grow through Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service.
It is an honor and pleasure as president of Eta Sigma Chapter, founded as Gamma chapter in 1923 for over 92 years serving the metropolitan Atlanta area, where we are known as the Heart and Soul of Atlanta. We have been a pillar in the Atlanta Metropolitan community rendering countless hours of service civically and socially. We continue to dedicate ourselves to upholding Sigma Gamma Rho’s beautiful legacy and tradition of service to all mankind. As we continue to press toward the mark of our centennial our national programs vision radiates through our National President’s theme for 2014-2016; “Uplifting our Legacy of Sisterhood, Scholarship, Leadership and Service.” We are honored and proud to have the former 14th Past National President, Mrs. Evelyn Hawkins Hood as a member of our illustrious chapter. We are a multi-generational chapter that has many accomplishments locally, regionally and nationally. We are the largest graduate chapter in the Atlanta Area with over 80 financial members.
